July 2007   Magnolia
Magnolia (affectionately Maggie, Mags, or Maggie-Moo) is a 3-year-old Dalmatian who lives in Lovettsville, Virginia with her Mom, Dad, cat Solomon and her new Belgian Malinois brother, Rebel (recently adopted from The ABMC Belgian Malinois Rescue).

When Magnolia isn’t visiting her “grandparent’s”, you can usually find her in the middle of things at FunDogs events. Magnolia is one of the four original FunDoggers, and her Mom is the brains behind the FunDogs website. FunDogs is a Loudoun obedience group—part of Dog Day Afternoon in Leesburg, Virginia—that focuses on events purely for the enjoyment of being a dog! So far, Magnolia says her favorite FunDogs activities have been trips to 3 Dog Farm and her Rally-O classes!

Maggie recently earned her Rally Novice title. She’s hoping to move up to Rally Advanced soon so she can take another shot at her CD (Companion Dog) title. She’s also proud of the fact that she’s the 101st Dalmatian to be registered with the North American Flyball Association. Maggie is quite excited about the prospect of competing with her team, The Beltway Bandits, as soon as her flyball training is over.

Maggie generously participates in community fundraising activities for dog-related charities, such as GoodDogz.org, Fairfax Pets on Wheels, and The Canine Epilepsy Resource Center, and she looks forward to the day when she will become a certified Dog Scout! Despite her extremely active schedule, Magnolia also finds time for traveling, canoeing, backpacking, attending outdoor concerts and visiting farmers markets with her family.

Our all-time favorite portrait of Magnolia is here in Gallery 2.
