For her first birthday, Miss “Sophie Pie’s” Mom invited 12 dog guests to a big “coming out party” to introduce Sophie to canine society. Sophie wore a tu-tu made of pink satin and netting, and a rhinestone bone necklace. The evening was a perfect success with only one “accident”…it was one of the male dogs! (Boy!) Over the next year, Sophie settled into a regimen of agility training. She now enjoys a scaled-down set of agility equipment in her backyard, sized just right for a little girl with short legs. She is especially fond of her pink agility tunnel since pink is her favorite color. Squirrels beware! Sophie is so fast, she has one catch to her credit. In her spare time, Sophie enjoys lying in the sun and watching the “angels in the sky” (birds) through the windows. Her favorite foods include English Breakfast tea with cream and honey every morning, fruit and cheese, and soft, savory clay “mud” from the backyard! Sophie currently resides in Hollin Hills, a suburb of Alexandria, VA with her Mother. You can see other portraits of Sophie in Gallery 1. Her photo also appears above the “news & events” heading on our home page. Click here to read about a previous Dog of the Month winner.
